Video of The Week: Pillowcase Tutorial

I taught myself how to sew for the purpose of making my own cosplays. This was one of the very first projects I mastered. I know sewing an entire dress from start to finish can seem impossible if you’ve never used a sewing machine/needle and thread* before, but with simple projects like this you’ll build your confidence.

I make these all the time for myself and as gift wrapping for the kids during the holiday season. (Functional and green.) They also make great house warming gifts as well. Bonus you can totally do the smug “I made them” thing.  I will admit that I’ve only done the little accent piece once and am too lazy wasn’t super into it. That’s one of the great things about sewing. You can totally make things your own! Enjoy!

Who would you make a set of these for?

* You can totally hand sew these. Use a back stitch for the main sewing.
