This episode was really hard for me to watch. The morale of the soldiers is starting to fade as they see death after death. What’s the point of staying and fighting if they’re only going to die anyway? Pixis wants to retake Trost; his plan, to have Eren seal up the hole in the gate. That means the remaining soldiers will have to divert attention away from him while in Titan form so he can carry this massive boulder to the hole. The thing that hurts to watch, is how so many of them are scared, trying to speak out against going to their deaths for a plan they think is hopeless. And their commanding officers are given authority to kill them for abandoning their posts, for being traitors. It’s mass hysteria.
I hope everyone is having an awesome summer! It’s kind of hectic around here but I wanted to share this really easy Tshirt DIY. I think I may need to may 10

Contrary to the title of this episode, there aren’t that many answers given. At least, none that I’m looking for.
The soldiers not there to witness Eren’s change all see smoke from the canon fire. Obviously they’re scared about what’s going on. And Jean and co. aren’t telling anyone anything. Yet they’re the only ones who go to see what’s happening. Everyone else stays grounded. Seems weird to me. I’d be flying around to see what was up too. But, I suppose that’s neither here nor there.
Back again. So, this episode we learn that while the Titans broke through and attacked, the Recon Corps was gone outside the wall. In fact, they’d left earlier the same day. Which just seems like too much of a coincidence to me…but it explains why there were so many casualties. Because the soldiers that were left to fight off the Titans were recent graduates and still green behind the ears, so to speak.
Armin is portrayed as being so weak. He has no physical prowess, seems to buckle under pressure, let’s his emotions get the better of him. But for all that, he’s still a tactical genius. And in this episode we get to see that. He wants to use the rogue Titan to kill the others surrounding HQ. And why not? With little to no gas for their maneuver gear and their blades in bad shape, it’s the best plan.
